Melodie Kolmetz, Ed.D, MPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA, NRP, CP-P, brings 30 years of experience as a Board Certified PA. She works in geriatric medicine, staffing a large rehabilitation and long-term care facility associated with the academic medical center in New York state. We spoke with Kolmetz about her volunteer work on the Geriatric Medicine CAQ committee with NCCPA and her journey in health care.

Tell us a bit about you and about your current role?

I have worked in nearly all phases of health care, including prehospital emergency medicine as an EMT and paramedic, emergency medicine, inpatient and critical care medicine, family medicine, and specialty care in gastroenterology, geriatrics and occupational medicine. I served as the clinical director for an occupational medicine/urgent care company and have also worked in EMS and PA education.
