Why I Volunteer: Danielle Comeaux, MPAS, PA-C
Danielle Comeaux, MPAS, PA-C, is a Board Certified PA who practices with the pediatric orthopaedic surgery team at Texas Children’s Hospital. Comeaux has volunteered with the NCCPA exam development team, and we asked her to share some insights about her experience.
Tell us a bit about you and your current role.
I’ve been in the pediatric orthopaedic surgery specialty for 19 years, including the past 9 years at Texas Children’s Hospital. Prior to that, I spent nearly a decade specializing in hand, foot & ankle surgery, sports medicine, and orthopaedic surgery. In my current role, I am a PA with the pediatric orthopaedic surgery team, where I care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Where did you graduate from PA school?
I attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, where I earned a Bachelor of Biological Sciences, graduating Cum Laude in 2004. I then earned my Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
How did you find out about this volunteering opportunity, and which committees were you part of?
I found out about volunteering for NCCPA when I expressed my interest in contributing to exam question development as I was renewing my certification. I submitted a set of sample questions, which served as the catalyst for future involvement in exam content development initiatives.
