Volunteer Spotlight: Lindsey Eng, PA-C
Lindsey Eng, PA-C, jokes that her colleagues can usually identify her as a member of the cardiothoracic surgery team right away because, as she puts it, “we don’t stop talking about it.”
Eng, a Board Certified PA of 12 years, pivoted from her initial plan of medical school after a friend introduced her to the PA profession in college. It offered the balance she was looking for: high-level medical decision-making paired with long-term flexibility.
“There’s room to learn and grow, and if I ever needed a change, the flexibility of the profession made that feel possible,” Eng said.
After graduating from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and honing her skills in the operating room for over a decade, Eng found a new way to contribute to her field. Her introduction to NCCPA volunteer service came when she was contacted to volunteer in the Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) team.
