The Sieverings on 35 Years of Life and PA Practice
In August 1990, Laura and Jeff Sievering met in a tree.
It was the start of the PA Program at the Emory University School of Medicine. During a welcome party, a classmate invited the cohort to her backyard for a group photo.
While most students stood on the grass, the future Sieverings climbed into the branches.
“They decided to take a picture of us in the tree. And so the two of us were literally the two in the tree — that’s how we met,” said Laura Sievering, PA-C. “Everybody else was kind of around the tree, but the two of us were in the tree.”
That moment sparked a connection spanning nearly 36 years. Their friendship evolved into a romance on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend that same year.
