New NCCPA CAQs in Addiction Medicine and Oncology Approved

The Board of Directors recently approved the development of the NCCPA Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQs) in Addiction Medicine and Oncology, expanding opportunities for PAs to obtain a specialty certificate in these high-demand specialties.

NCCPA Board members considered proposals from the Society of Addiction Medicine PAs (SAMPA), the Association of PAs in Oncology (APAO) and the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) and subsequently approved the development of the two CAQs.

“NCCPA strives to support the PA profession by recognizing additional knowledge and experience through CAQs, supporting PAs who want to reinforce their commitment to high-quality patient care,” said NCCPA President and CEO Dawn Morton-Rias, Ed.D., PA-C, ICE-CCP, FACHE.
