Dodge, a Board Certified PA practicing child and adolescent psychiatry across multiple states, emphasizes that ADHD is not simply about distraction, but a neurodevelopmental condition rooted in executive function.

“ADHD is fundamentally about executive function, the brain’s system for planning, organizing, regulating emotions, sustaining attention and exercising self-control,” Dodge said.
