A Note from the NCCPA President and CEO, Dawn Morton-Rias, on the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Colleagues,

The NCCPA staff and I continue to monitor developments surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

While our country grapples with the reality of this new pandemic, it is not lost on me or the entire NCCPA family that so many of you may have been both professionally and personally challenged as you work to provide acute care and encouragement to America’s patients, while simultaneously trying to ensure the continued health of yourselves and your families.

During these uncertain times, we find comfort in knowing that we are in this together and in the encouraging stories of the dedication that PAs have shown while working on the front lines to address this crisis. Just as we appreciate the care you routinely provide to 9.1 million patients per week, we greatly appreciate your contributions to this effort and offer our support.

To provide greater support during this time, participants in the Pilot Alternative to PANRE are reminded that a one-week extension has been provided to complete questions for the quarter. Responses for the fifth quarter of the exam will now be due on March 19, 2020.

Those who are currently scheduled to complete PANCE or PANRE at a Pearson Vue Testing Center can find guidance regarding the exam and any potential impacts of the Coronavirus by contacting their testing center directly or by visiting the Coronavirus Update Page of Pearson VUE’s website.

As an organization, we continue to look for additional ways we may assist PAs who may be affected. If you have any specific questions or needs that we may assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at .

Thank you again for your tireless work to address this issue and for your continued efforts to bring high quality care to patients across this country. Through your combined work and dedication, we are confident that our brightest days are ahead.

Thank you for all that you do.

Sincerely,

Dawn Morton-Rias, Ed.D, PA-C
