Elevating PA Efforts to Address Mental Health
The nccPA Health Foundation recently convened its PArtners in Mental Health Steering Committee and published an article in Psychiatric Times as part of its commitment to elevating PA contributions in the mental and behavioral health space.
On June 29-July 1, the Health Foundation convened its PArtners in Mental Health Steering Committee with two goals: To advance activities that continually equip all Board Certified PAs to address mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) and to increase the visibility of PA efforts.
The Steering Committee recognized the increasing demand for mental health services, the insufficient supply of mental health providers, and the capacity of all PAs to help fill this gap.
Further, Steering Committee members shared individual and organizational efforts and actively engaged in prioritizing additional opportunities to support the initiative’s goals. A stakeholder report will be published online this fall.
