NCCPA is considering a new model for the recertification exam that maintains the generalist nature of the PA-C credential while also recognizing that over 73% of PAs now work in specialties outside of primary care. The new model, the perspectives and data that informed its development, and the rationale for its various attributes are explained in the NCCPA white paper, “Re-examining Recertification for the PA Profession.”
