NCCPA has carefully examined the report presented by AAPA, based on the findings of the research commissioned from Rand Research and support the report.

NCCPA has deliberated for several years how to best measure PAs' grasp of core medical knowledge through multiple assessment models. We appreciate AAPA’s support of NCCPA’s pilot alternative to PANRE and we agree that this assessment option gives PAs a clear choice in how, when and where to fulfill this aspect of the certification maintenance requirement. Furthermore, we fully support the value of CME documented by the fact that we have always included it as part of our certification maintenance process. We remain open to exploring with AAPA and others how to enhance that aspect of certification maintenance.
