The Society is a supporting organization of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is governed by a Board of Trustees. The board may also include ex-officio and emeritus members. The Board of Trustees are appointed by the Board of Directors of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and the NCCPA President serves as an ex-officio Trustee of the Society.
